Veo 3.1 works pretty nicely and pretty quick.

You can also get access to Veo 3.1 inside Flow.

Previously Flow was using Veo 3 which is the older version.

Now you can use Veo 3.1 that just got released.

With this Veo 3.1 update, it’s more powerful.

Keep extending with Veo 3.1 to create longer videos.

My First Veo 3.1 Test Results

I created my first video with Veo 3.1.

The example was pretty easy to create with Veo 3.1.

When I played the video back from Veo 3.1, I noticed something.

The video is still a little bit buggy on the wordings with Veo 3.1.

It was like “Veo 3.1 saved us” but the text was off.

Some of the video is pretty cool from Veo 3.1 demos.

But not everything impressed me with Veo 3.1.

Where To Access Veo 3.1 For Free

Here’s the best part about Veo 3.1.

You can access Veo 3.1 for free in multiple places.

First option for Veo 3.1: Gemini.

Just go to Gemini and start using Veo 3.1.

How To Use Veo 3.1 In Flow

Let me show you the exact process for Veo 3.1 in Flow.

Go to labs.google.com for Veo 3.1.

Go to your project and select the date.

You’ll see Veo 3.1 selected in the model options.

You can switch between Veo 3.1 quality or Veo 3.1 fast.

Veo 3.1 quality gives better results but takes longer.

Veo 3.1 fast gives quicker results.

You can change the number of outputs with Veo 3.1.

If you want to create multiple videos with Veo 3.1, you can.

I tested Veo 3.1 with: “Dragon flying through the sky breathing out fire on a crazy cinematic landscape.”

I used Veo 3.1 quality for this test.

Veo 3.1 quality takes quite a long time to generate.

Then I switched to Veo 3.1 fast and tested: “Samurais fighting in a Japanese forest cinematic style.”

The percentage on Veo 3.1 fast goes way faster than Veo 3.1 quality.

But Veo 3.1 quality will give better results.

Testing Veo 3.1 With Different Prompts

I tested multiple prompts with Veo 3.1 to see what works.

First test with Veo 3.1: Dragon breathing fire.

The video from Veo 3.1 was still a little bit grainy.

Second test with Veo 3.1: Samurais fighting.

The video from Veo 3.1 looked slightly better but weird.

It’s weird how the characters in Veo 3.1 videos just stop doing anything.

You’d want them to keep carrying on with Veo 3.1.

Third test with Veo 3.1: Pikachu as a mafia godfather.

That one from Veo 3.1 was pretty cool.

Fourth test with Veo 3.1: Grandma goes go karting and street racing versus gangsters.

That video from Veo 3.1 looked better.

Then I extended that scene with Veo 3.1.

The extension prompt: “Grandma becomes a savage and throws stuff at the other racers then zooms off laughing hysterically.”

Veo 3.1 generated the extended scene.

The Real Veo 3.1 vs Sora 2 Comparison

I saw a comparison on Twitter between Veo 3.1 and Sora 2.

Someone posted Sora 2 on the right versus Veo 3.1.

Sora 2 is way more realistic than Veo 3.1.

The video from Sora 2 actually looks and feels real.

The filters and colors on Sora 2 look like someone filmed it on their iPhone.

That’s what people want from these tools.

If you post Sora 2 content on social media, it does better.

If you post Veo 3.1 content, it’s just not as good.

Sora 2 is still looking a lot more realistic than Veo 3.1.

But here’s the problem with Sora 2.

You can’t access Sora 2 outside US and Canada without a VPN.

So even though Sora 2 quality beats Veo 3.1, most people can’t use it.

My Honest Opinion After Testing Veo 3.1

Let me be honest after testing Veo 3.1.

I’m not going to say Veo 3.1 is amazing.

Veo 3.1 doesn’t blow my mind to be honest.

I need to play around more with prompts for Veo 3.1.

Everything I tested with Veo 3.1 was a bit meh.

I got better responses from Sora 2 for sure compared to Veo 3.1.

I want it very short just to get a quick prompt and inspiration.

Then I take that ChatGPT prompt to Veo 3.1.

I plug it into Hugging Face with Veo 3.1.

Hit generate with Veo 3.1.

This process helps you get better outputs from Veo 3.1.

Because Veo 3.1 needs detailed prompts to work well.

Extending Scenes Is The Best Veo 3.1 Feature

The best feature of Veo 3.1 is extending scenes.

This is probably the easiest way to create longer clips with Veo 3.1.

The longest video length I’ve seen with Veo 3.1 is 8 seconds.

You can use Veo 3.1 for free in other places instead.

Using Veo 3.1 For Business And Ads

If you’re using Veo 3.1 for business, it could work for ads.

You could go to Gemini with Veo 3.1.

Add a photo of yourself for Veo 3.1.

Then give Veo 3.1 a prompt like: “Man selling SEO for his agency on a Facebook ad filmed from perspective of an iPhone like a vlog UGC.”

Veo 3.1 should generate that video for you.

It’d be quite easy with Veo 3.1 to just generate an ad.

You could give Veo 3.1 a script if you want as well.

The key is creating UGC style content with Veo 3.1.

Content that looks like iPhone footage works better for social media.

Accessing Sora 2 If You’re Outside US

If you want to access Sora 2 outside UK and Canada, there’s a workaround.

You can get access to Sora 2 inside Qeexo.

Go to qeexo.ai/sora-2-text-to-video.

You can plug your prompts into Sora 2 there.

You can choose to remove the watermark from Sora 2 videos.

Then you can generate videos with Sora 2.

The only thing I found with Sora 2 is it breaks sometimes.

But you can compare outputs of Sora 2 versus Veo 3.1 this way.

When I tested the same prompt on both, Sora 2 took much longer than Veo 3.1.

Sora 2 takes ages to generate.

Much longer than Veo 3.1.

Which Tool I Actually Recommend

Someone asked me: “If you had to choose just one AI tool for almost all tasks, what would you choose?”

I would go with probably Claude.

I think Claude is the best.

But it depends what your use case is.

If you’re automating content, written content, blogs, articles, Claude is probably the best for writing content.

For video generation specifically, I still think Hailuo is 10 times better than Veo 3.1.

Hailuo is 10 times better.
